Devices of the Enemy

The enemy has agendas — to project altars of corruption onto your life. The advert on the TV, the frequency on the radio, the report on the news, the conversation in the room — each is a rod placed at the watering trough, hoping you'll behold it long enough to conceive it. We must not be ignorant of his devices.

The 6 Devices

  • The Screen — Television & Advertising

    Adverts and programming are designed to anchor your gaze and rehearse a script in your imagination. What you behold long enough, you begin to believe.

    Counter · Curate the feed. Mute, scroll past, switch off. 'I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes' (Ps 101:3).

  • The Frequency — Radio, Music, Podcast

    Sound bypasses argument and lodges in the spirit. Lyrics, news cycles, and talk frequencies install confessions in you without your consent.

    Counter · Pre-tune the atmosphere with worship and the Word. The first frequency in the room sets the day.

  • The Report — News & Rumour

    'A family of six was murdered, no suspects…' — the report becomes the altar. You behold the casualty, then you confess, 'this country is going down.' The witch's curse is now in your own mouth.

    Counter · Acknowledge the fact; refuse the verdict. Re-frame in faith: 'Let the weak say, I am strong' (Joel 3:10).

  • The Conversation — Gossip & Complaint

    Every conversation is an altar. When you co-sign decline, sickness, or limitation, you become the priest of that altar in your own life.

    Counter · Be the one who shifts the room. 'Peace, be still' (Mk 4:39) is a sentence — say it.

  • The Image — Pornography, Violence, Comparison

    An image is a seed. Sown into the imagination it grows into appetite, then identity. Job knew this before there were screens.

    Counter · 'I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?' (Job 31:1). Cut the source — Jesus said if the eye offends, pluck it out (Matt 5:29).

  • The Atmosphere — Spaces & Company

    Some rooms, group chats, and friendships are altars already lit. You walk in clean and walk out heavy because the altar discharged on you.

    Counter · Change the room. 'Evil communications corrupt good manners' (1 Cor 15:33).

6 Principles to overcome

    Be not ignorant of his devices

    2 Cor 2:11

    Paul names it plainly: the enemy has a strategy and Satan gains the advantage when believers don't recognise the playbook. Awareness is half the war.

    Jacob's principle of projection

    Gen 30:37-39

    Jacob placed striped rods in front of the flocks at the watering troughs. What they beheld at the place of drinking, they conceived. What you stare at long enough, you reproduce in your life.

    A covenant with the eyes

    Job 31:1

    Job pre-decided what he would and would not look at. The covenant was made before the temptation arrived. Decide once, in advance — not in the moment.

    Radical removal

    Matt 5:29 · 18:9

    Jesus' standard: if it causes you to stumble, cut it off. Apps, channels, contacts, subscriptions. Surgery beats slow infection.

    Let the weak say, I am strong

    Joel 3:10 · Rom 4:17

    Faith confession is not denial of the fact — it is declaration of the higher fact. Call things that be not as though they were. Speak the end from the storm.

    Peace, be still

    Mk 4:39

    Jesus didn't debate the storm — He addressed it. Three words ended a hurricane. In any aspect of your life, address the storm with the authority of the Word.

Guard the gates

The 4 Gates

  • Eye-gate

    Curate, cover, cut off. What you behold, you become.

  • Ear-gate

    Filter frequencies. Worship in, world out.

  • Mouth-gate

    Speak the verdict of Scripture, not the verdict of the news.

  • Mind-gate

    Renew daily (Rom 12:2). The unrenewed mind is a default altar.

Declaration — closing the altars

Father, in the name of Jesus, I recognise the devices of the enemy and I am not ignorant of them.

I make a covenant with my eyes today — I will set no wicked thing before them.
I close my ears to every frequency that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.
I take authority over my mouth — I will not co-sign the report of the enemy.

Where I have beheld and confessed death, sickness, lack, or fear,
I repent and I break agreement now, in Jesus' name.

I say to the storm in my body — peace, be still.
I say to the storm in my finances — peace, be still.
I say to the storm in my family and my nation — peace, be still.

Let the weak say, I am strong. I call things that be not as though they were.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?

In Jesus' name. Amen.

The Anointing That Breaks Every Yoke

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing." — Isaiah 10:27

These notes do not operate by formula — they operate by the same anointing Jesus carried when He set the captives free (Luke 4:18). Approach every session under covering, in covenant, and in faith.

Sow Where You Eat

When a minister sows into the well they drink from, a spiritual transaction takes place — they become a partaker of the anointing flowing through it (1 Corinthians 9:11, Philippians 4:17). Sowing is not payment; it is participation.
