Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior

1. The gospel in plain words

• God made you and loves you. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son” (John 3:16).
• Sin separated us from Him. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
• Jesus paid the price. “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). He was buried and rose again on the third day, defeating death and the powers of darkness (Colossians 2:15).
• Salvation is a free gift. “For by grace are ye saved through faith… it is the gift of God: not of works” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
• You receive it by believing and confessing. “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9).

2. The prayer of salvation

There is nothing magical about the words — God answers a sincere heart. Pray this aloud, slowly, and mean it:

Lord Jesus, I come to You just as I am. I am a sinner and I need a Savior. I believe You are the Son of God, that You died on the cross for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. Forgive me. Wash me in Your blood. I turn away from my old life, from every sin, and from every other master. Come into my heart, be my Lord and my Savior, and write my name in the Lamb's Book of Life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and teach me to follow You from today onward. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

If you prayed that and meant it, on the authority of God's word you are now a child of God (John 1:12). Not because you feel different — because He is faithful.

3. Your first steps as a new believer

1. Tell someone. Confession seals what faith received (Matthew 10:32).
2. Be baptised in water. Ask a Bible-believing local church to baptise you (Acts 2:38).
3. Read the Bible daily. Start with the Gospel of John — you can read it free in this app.
4. Pray every day. Simple, honest conversation. No formula needed.
5. Join a church family. No one survives alone (Hebrews 10:25).

4. Closing old doors

Coming to Christ changes your ownership; renouncing closes the doors the enemy used. If you were involved in the occult, divination, secret societies, ungodly covenants, or addictions, name them before God, renounce them aloud in Jesus' name, and destroy any objects tied to them (Acts 19:18-19). Then walk in the light with other believers.

5. Honest questions

How do I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior?

Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for your sins and rose again, confess Him aloud as Lord, and repent — turn away from sin and turn to Him. Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.

What is the prayer of salvation?

A simple, sincere prayer: Lord Jesus, I am a sinner and I need You. I believe You died for me and rose again. Forgive me, wash me in Your blood, come into my heart, and be my Lord and Savior from today. I turn from my old life and I follow You. Amen.

Do I have to be good enough first?

No. Salvation is a gift, not a wage. Ephesians 2:8-9 says you are saved by grace through faith, not of works, so that no one can boast. Christ receives you as you are and then changes you.

What do I do after I give my life to Jesus?

Tell someone, get water baptised, join a Bible-believing local church, start reading the Bible daily, and begin talking to God in prayer. Renounce anything occult or ungodly you were involved in and ask Jesus to close those doors.

Can God forgive what I have done?

Yes. 1 John 1:9 promises that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. No sin is bigger than the blood of Jesus.
